Creaform introduces the EXAscan™, its latest handheld laser scanner

The EXAscan is a portable 3D laser scanner equipped with a third high definition camera which greatly increases the scanning resolution as well as the data acquisition accuracy. The automatic multi-resolution feature enables the scanner to automatically set the highest mesh resolution for any surface acquired in “High Resolution” mode. This reduces the post-processing step accordingly, since it is no longer necessary to increase the mesh resolution manually.

The handheld 3D laser scanner EXAscan is based on the same powerful technology that made the Handyscan 3D™ brand so successful and brings increased resolution and accuracy, which proves greatly useful for scanning highly detailed surfaces and small objects in many fields such as aerospace, automotive, biomechanics, consumer products, education, heritage preservation & architecture and multimedia. Its applications run from reverse engineering to design and manufacturing, inspection, digital mock-ups and simulation.
